UK election news: Liberal Party

Many of us in the UK are disillusioned with the Conservative and Labour parties. They both seem to have the same ultra left-wing liberal / “Woke” policies such as teaching our children not to use the words “boy” and “girl”.

If you are considering the Liberal Democrats as an alternative, are they really any different, considering the word “Liberal” in their party name? Here’s some background that you should know. Did you know of the party's connection with Jimmy Savile?

Jimmy Savile was appointed as an honorary vice-president of the National Association of Youth Clubs in the 1960s, a role that connected him with several political figures. In this capacity, he developed a friendship with Jeremy Thorpe, who was the leader of the Liberal Party from 1967 to 1976.

The Liberal Party sought to leverage Savile's celebrity status to reach a broader audience. At that time, Savile was a prominent media figure known for his work on television and radio, and the Liberal Party believed his involvement could attract attention and potentially sway public opinion. Savile participated in party political broadcasts for the Liberal Party.

Savile endorsed the party and spoke about issues he believed in, aligning himself with the Liberal Party's values and policies.

This association later became problematic due to the posthumous revelations of Savile's extensive sexual abuse, which came to light after his death in 2011. The Liberal Party, like many other organizations and individuals who had been connected to Savile, faced scrutiny and criticism for their association with him.
