How to keep warm this winter 😀
Plant-based hot chocolate drink
Lots of people have a dairy or lactose intolerance. Here's how to make a hot chocolate drink with purely plant-based ingredients. I honestly can't tell the difference from the dairy version.
Ingredients per portion
1 cup cashew milk
2 Tbsp hot chocolate powder
Oat cream to taste
Heat the milk in a pan over a low to medium heat until almost boiling. Add the hot chocolate powder and whisk until frothy using a balloon whisk. Check that it is sweet enough for you (depends on product brands) and if not, stir in some raw sugar. Finally stir in some oat cream.
The brands I use in the UK are Alpro cashew milk, Oatly double cream (made from oats) and Green and Black's hot chocolate powder.

Toast and hot chocolate is one of my food groups. For me, full on organic milk, some sea salt and a bit of sugar, and about 3 tablespoons of cocoa. When the butter from the toast dunking is floating on the hot chocolate, you have arrived. Thanks for the catcoat cartoon too!
